No. Ahooga’s gear engineering uses oversized chain rings and smaller rear cogs to give you the feeling of riding a full-size bike – you don’t have to pedal any harder or faster. 

20” wheels have a slightly higher rolling resistance than larger wheels but this is only one element of speed. 20” wheels offer several performance advantages such as a faster acceleration due to a lower moment of inertia (important quality when riding in town). It is also easier to pedal uphill (important quality when riding in hilly landscapes), they combine optimally with an electrical assistance, are more aerodynamic and lighter with a bigger diameter. 


From an ergonomical and geometrical point of view, the Ahooga can be compared to a full size bike.
